Five Shortlisted Startups Showcase Ideas at Startup Kashmir Pitch Deck Event in Srinagar

Srinagar, Sept 17: Startup Kashmir on Wednesday organized the second round of its Pitch Deck Event at Radisson Hotel Srinagar, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors and business leaders to promote innovation and investment in the Valley.

Five startups — Zorawar by Abdul Barii, Makaseb International by Syed Zaman, Cartzu by Furqan Qureshi, Biowealth–Helixion by Sheikh Rizwan, and Credistralia by Abul Kalam Azad — presented their business models and ideas before an expert panel. The shortlisted ventures had been selected from the first round of the event held last week.

The event was attended by US-based angel investor Syed Tasawer Jalali, who shared feedback with the startups, and Khair Ul Nisa Shah, Executive Director at Startup Kashmir and Alson Motors. Shahid Ansari, Founder and CEO of Startup Kashmir, moderated the proceedings, stressing the importance of such initiatives in strengthening Kashmir’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Prominent hotelier and entrepreneur Mushtaq Chaya addressed the gathering, urging young founders to remain persistent in the face of challenges. Syed Rais, President of J&K Bank, highlighted the bank’s commitment to supporting startups and new ventures in the region.

Organizers said the Pitch Deck Event aimed to provide a platform for Kashmiri entrepreneurs to access mentorship, networking and potential investment opportunities. Several high-potential startups are expected to advance further in the program.

Startup Kashmir has been at the forefront of nurturing a startup culture in the region, connecting young entrepreneurs with mentors, investors and industry experts. Through workshops, pitch events and incubation support, the initiative is working to transform innovative ideas into scalable businesses and to position Kashmir on the national and global entrepreneurial map.
