Mission Yuva Workshop Inspires a New Wave of Entrepreneurs in Kashmir

Srinagar, June 21, 2025 – Startup Kashmir successfully hosted an engaging mentorship workshop under its Saturday Mentorship Program, titled “Mission Yuva: Launch Your Entrepreneurial Journey.” The hybrid event, conducted both online and offline, attracted enthusiastic participation from aspiring entrepreneurs across the region, marking a pivotal step in shifting the focus of Kashmir’s youth from job hunting to job creation.
The workshop was led by Dr. Murtaza Rashid (JKAS), Deputy Secretary to the Government, who shared his invaluable experiences, offering practical insights and actionable steps to navigate the entrepreneurial journey.

Through real-life lessons and personal stories, Dr. Rashid emphasized, “Start small, but start now. Don’t wait for the perfect setup or big investments. What matters is solving a real problem.”
Participants, ranging from college students to first-time founders, resonated deeply with the interactive session. Topics like funding, team-building, and pitching an idea were addressed during an open Q&A segment, offering a rare opportunity for attendees to gain clarity on their entrepreneurial aspirations.

Jasir, a participant from Srinagar, reflected, “I’ve been stuck between preparing for government exams and wanting to open a clothing brand. Today’s session helped me choose clarity over confusion.” Another attendee, Amir Ahmad from Shopian, appreciated the practicality of the workshop, saying, “This felt different from usual webinars. It was honest, encouraging, and gave us tangible steps to move forward.”
The workshop’s impact extended beyond the event, as discussions and ideas continued to flow long after it ended. Organizers at Startup Kashmir affirmed their commitment to fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir. “We’re building a space where young people can imagine something new, and then act on it,” remarked a program coordinator.

Mission Yuva is not just a workshop; it is a movement aimed at empowering Kashmir’s youth to envision and execute innovative, purpose-driven ventures that address both local and global challenges.

Startup Kashmir will continue to organize such initiatives, ensuring that the region’s aspiring entrepreneurs have the guidance, resources, and inspiration they need to succeed.
